BEECAUSE RAISES OVER $9,000

BeeCause was a resounding success, achieving our goals of celebrating our 20th anniversary in style and demonstrating our skills with an integrated campaign. This was our chance to 'walk the talk' and take our own advice about connecting with a cause that is authentic to our brand, and meaningful to our audience. BeeCause raised funds for the Canadian Bee Research Fund nationally, and the Arts Project, locally.

The Canadian Bee Research Fund was established to support investigating the cause of honey bee disappearance. Every third bite you eat depends on honey bees. But in the last two years the domesticated honey bee population – which most farmers depend on for pollination – has suffered annual colony losses averaging 28-35% with some regions of the country experiencing losses in excess of 60%. Research is key to determining why this is happening in order to reverse the trend.

The main goal of the ARTS Project is to give artists the support to be creative and develop their work, and to offer them an outlet for sharing that work with the community. The Arts Project acts as an arts incubator and also has its own original programming in theatre and visual arts, education programs and seminars. Funded by private donations and their own programming, this economic cultural engine is a keystone for downtown London that needs our support.

You can see photos of the Sept. 17th gala evening and all of the art submitted, including the selected works for auction, at www.beecause.ca

Bee-shirts are still available!
