BeeCause: Art Exhibition Call for Entries Today!

Artists of all kinds from London and across Canada are invited to enter

April 7, 2009 (London, ON) – Honey Design, Marketing and Communications (HONEY) today issued the call for entries in the 2009 BeeCause art exhibition and auction. Inspired by the 20th anniversary of the London creative firm, Robin Honey and the Hive hatched a creative idea: Artists of all kinds, from London and across Canada are invited to enter a juried exhibition and auction celebrating the theme of ‘honey’.

“Twenty years ago, I founded HONEY to serve London and surrounding communities on the philosophy that clients should not be separated from the creative process and that good ideas always have a strategic design,” said Robin Honey, creative director and president, HONEY. “Today the firm has expanded its expertise beyond traditional advertising and we are celebrating our 20th anniversary in a very creative way.”

BeeCause: Call for Entries from April 7 – June 30, 2009

Today marks the opening of the call for entries, online at beecause.ca. The website will feature photographs of each piece of artwork entered. Only a limited number of pieces will actually be displayed in the exhibition and auctioned at the BeeCause event later this year.

All submitted artwork must be inspired by ‘honey’, in all its forms. From beeswax to honeycombs, and queen bees to killer bees, anything related to Honey is encouraged. Let your creativity flow! Artists must submit a photograph of their artwork, online at beecause.ca. Please visit the website for entry guidelines.

The deadline for entries is June 30, 2009. All entries will be displayed at beecause.ca, and the judges’ top selections will be invited for exhibition and auction at HONEY’s anniversary celebration in September 2009 at the Arts Project. The BeeCause jury, Brian Meehan, Museum London, Michael Gibson, Michael Gibson Gallery, and Robin Honey, HONEY, will select which pieces will be displayed at the exhibition and auctioned at the live event.

BeeCause: Celebrate creativity, assist the arts, and help the honey bees

The exhibition is an appropriate fit for HONEY, a company that has combined the art and science of communicating their clients’ brands with power and authenticity locally and nationally for 20 years. The exhibition’s theme is ‘honey’ and the entries must be inspired by ‘honey’ in all of its forms, and be indicative of Honey Design's philosophy: Truly innovative creativity comes from a clear statement of purpose without unnecessary restrictions. For full list of rules and regulations visit www.beecause.ca.

The event will benefit two different organizations, one local and one national: London’s arts incubator, The Arts Project, and the Canadian Bee Research Fund, a Canadian research initiative focused on the disappearance of honeybees.
